The religious bhakti phenomenon became the basic and regulative principle for the Visnuit scholar thinkers who tried to comprehend and conceptualize the mystical experience of bhakti in their philosophical and theological opuses. The author of this article analyzes that essential concept of one of the two main Indian religious and philosophical trends and demonstrates the distinct points of various vishnuit theologists like Madhva, Gopeshvaraji, Rupa, Jiva, Baladeva and Vishvanatha in their scholastic speculations about bhakti and its metaphysical meaning.
