Over the last century, in Azerbaijanis culture, a large number of highly artistic works have been accumulated in various genres of classical, folk and jazz music. The new historical period that began after the collapse of the USSR set the task for the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan to restore, preserve and develop the national cultural heritage. This led to the main trend of the country’s contemporary cultural policy - the export of the achievements of the national artistic culture to the international arena. In this article, the dynamics of the ongoing cultural policy in the field of musical art is investigated though the musical festival movement. The article examines the most significant events in the musical life of the country, the most talented and bright figures that form the musical culture of modern Azerbaijan.
