Training counselors to work in online camps: from idea to implementation

The search for effective forms of education in the new social and economic conditions brings our contemporaries back to the study and reinterpretation of the experience of one of the most popular movements of the Soviet Union – the movement of student teams and pedagogical teams. The approach to organizing the activities of teaching teams has changed several times but working as a counselor in a summer health camp is recognized by the professional community as one of the most effective means of immersing a student in the future teaching profession. Adapting their own activities in the context of the pandemic has become a serious challenge for both the summer recreation and recreation system, as well as for the institutions involved in the training of counselors, and for the counselors themselves. In the context of the inability to fully start the summer health promotion campaign, it became necessary to revise traditional approaches to holidays, introduce various forms of online education, several ways, methods and means of stimulating and motivating children to acquire knowledge and organize leisure activities at a distance. It is obvious that for the introduction of new forms of online holidays, it is necessary to review the competence of a counselor and create conditions for their gaining.
