The problem of the progressive development of culture and cultural catastrophes requires a careful study of the direct processes of cultural changes and the search for the natural causes of catastrophes that interrupt the development and become the beginning of new directions in various spheres of culture. The research is based on natural-scientific processes in which development and destruction are combined. Obviously, similar processes occur in historical processes. Eschatological ideas anchored in cultural narratives are indirect evidence of the expected catastrophism. Also, such ideas are expressed in different works of artistic culture, taking various modifications; they indicate the universality of such processes. The issue of witnesses and testimonies, their correctness and timeliness are also touched upon. Creative solutions are based on the destruction and overcoming of previous theories and objectified artifacts and are a destructive breakthrough to cultural novelty
