World museums are searching today for ways to represent objects of cultural heritage as multifaceted and diversified as possible. Conservation and research make it possible to reveal more deeply the characteristics of the object and its history and give both the specialist and the viewer a deeper and understanding of it. At the same time, the very topic of restoration-conservation is attractive for the public, since the anonymous profession of a conservator is in the society’s perception surrounded by an aura of mystery. These facts correlate with the success that invariably accompanies few temporary conservation exhibitions. The Ashmolean Museum Conservation Galleries at Oxford University (Oxford, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) are one of the few permanent museum spaces in the world dedicated to conservation themes. The specificity of conservation and the permanent format of the exposition determine the peculiarities of its conceptual and visual decisions.
