The problem of spreading alien traditions in the festive culture of modern Russia

The problem of interaction and mutual influence of modern festive cultures is raised by the example of gradual incorporation of foreign elements into the primordial festive traditions of the peoples of Russia; from the standpoint of theoretical understanding of the essence of festive culture, the danger of mixing of heterogeneous festive traditions is analyzed; the manifestations of the erosion of traditions of festive culture of modern Russia are specified; the reasons and trends of purposeful planting of foreign traditions in the festive calendar of the country on the different stages of its development; it is argued that the national festive culture, preserving the continuity of the ineffable experience of ancestors, being a symbol of national identity, consolidation and spiritual unity forms the basic support of national culture and needs protection from the expansion of foreign traditions; the inadmissibility of a frivolous attitude to the imperceptibly occurring mixing of festive traditions of different peoples and countries, as this may lead to the collapse of their national cultures is emphasized their national identity
