Cultural and educational project «Memory Through the Years» as an experience of museum interaction with visitors

The project «Memory Through the Years» had been implemented in 2020–2021 jointly by the MAE (Kunstkamera) RAS and the House of Children’s Creativity «On the 9th Line» of the Vasileostrovsky District, St. Petersburg. The project dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was timed to the Year of Memory and Glory. The project was attended by high school students of the Vasileostrovsky District of St. Petersburg, activists of the Headquarters of the Russian Schoolchildren Movement «Civic Activity». The teenagers created a documentary film about the MAE, representing their own view of the museum’s inner life. The film won several awards at film festivals. A scheme of interaction between the museum and an educational institution was based on the material and technical basis of both organizations without additional funding. The project participants were able to attract their peers to the museum. This allows the MAE to map out the implementation of various sociocultural and educational events with a new audience.
