Nathan Altman worked fruitfully in the field of book graphics, designed several dozen editions, including a series of illustrations for the Old Testament. The evolution of the Master’s style is examined in the example of the depiction of a biblical plot performed by the artist twice with a break in nineteen years. The drawing «Eva and Serpent» was created in 1914, the second time the artist turned to this topic in 1933. during the creative trip to France. The development of graphical manners is analyzed. A translation of the monograph of V. Georges and I. Ehrenburg on Jewish artists, published in Yiddish in 1933 in Paris, is also being published in the scientific edition.
