В работе прослежены этапы формирования современного уральского музейного ландшафта. Выявлены факторы, повлиявшие на реформирование и реструктуризацию музейной сети, создание новых (государственных и негосударственных) музеев, музеефикацию индустриального наследия. Рассмотрены концепции создания и структура корпоративных музеев, экспозиционно-выставочная деятельность общественных, культурных и художественных центров. Автор обращает внимание на то, что расширению границ музейного мира способствовали процессы глобализации, переосмысление событий XX в., актуальные музеологические тенденции, развитие внутреннего туризма.
