Standardization of museum activities as a factor in the optimal functioning of municipal museums

The role of municipal museums in the development of the country’s museum industry is considered in the aspect of modern conditions of standardization, modernization, and optimization of their activities. Attention is paid to the issue of improving the qualifications of employees of these museums in museum and related areas of training. The regulatory nature of the model standard is analyzed. The main attention is paid to the types of activities of the municipal museum: accounting and storage, exposition and exhibition, scientific and educational, cultural and educational, scientific research to promote the museum and information activities, a detailed consideration is given. Statistical data and the role of the national project «Culture» in the promotion of municipal museums in the Russian Federation in the framework of modernization are summarized. Opportunities are being considered to participate in the creation of cultural values throughout the country through the introduction of a model standard and the creation of «model museums» aimed at increasing the level of accessibility of cultural goods.
