In this article the creativity of the artist B. P. Villevalde is considered. His art is devoted to the events of war with Napoleon and campaigns of the Russian army in Europe in 1813–1814. B. P. Villevalde was not only the battle genre artist, but also the artist, who began a war-household genre. The little-known facts of pedagogical work of Villevalde in Saint-Petersburg drawing school and in Academy of fine arts are resulted.
