The image of nature in painting of German Expressionism

The article deals with the paintings of German expressionists both members of the official groups and so-called ‘independent expressionists’. The image of nature is studied in the landscapes of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Dix, Erich Heckel, Emil Nolde, Franz Marc; the author makes conclusions concerning peculiarities of interpretation of the image of nature in the landscapes of the mentioned painters, their connection with the ideas of German romanticism as well as their interest to sophisticated philosophic component, imprinted on the image of the nature.
