P reservation and presentation of the monuments of oriental painting in the inter-museum projects

An analysis of methods for the preservation of oriental painting monuments in the State Hermitage Museum is being conducted,and therefore one of the main directions in the activities of the Laboratory for the scientif c restoration of Oriental painting, the restorationof Chinese scrolls on paper and silk, is considered. The question of preserving the original methods of restoration through inter-museuminteraction and joint projects for the training of specialists is raised. Inter-museum interaction in the f eld of restoration of monumentsof oriental painting is considered in the context of the ideas of the ICOM Code of Ethics. The analysis and results of cooperation activitiesbetween the Shanghai Museum and the State Hermitage Museum in the f eld of preserving Chinese painting are presented, as well asthe further transfer of experience and knowledge to the museums of our country, which contain collections of Oriental art.
