The article represents the analysis of the poetry of the Russian poets – O. Mandelstam, B. Chichibabin, A. Akhmatova, E. Evtushenko, N. Korzavin, B. Okudzhava, B. Slutsky and others, devoted to the establishment of Gulag, the formation of the system of whistle-blowing and oppressions, resettlement of peoples, that were suspected in disloyalty to the regime, the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, Great Victory, the infl uence of the cult of personality of Iosif Stalin on all the aspects of the country’s life in the past and the impacts and eff ects on the state of minds in contemporary Russia.
