Stained-glass window from the series «The Emperors of the Holy Roman Empire of the German nation» of the Strasbourg Cathedral of Notre-Dame, France

The article is dedicated to analysis of stained glass window work, probably about Karl the Great, included in the stained glass windows series of the Cathedral of Strasbourg (France) «Holy Roman Emperors of German nation». During the research author attempted to specify quite separated data, that hasn t been precisely determined before: date of creation the stained glass window (accuracy has been determined in interval of one hundred years), title (there has been more than five versions of supposed title) and prototype or miniature. The fact of addition a new genres to the traditional iconographic program of Cathedral has been ascertained. An attempt to determine peculiarities of imagination a historical personages has been implemented.
