The specif cs cultural competence of teachers of religious culture

The modern war of civilizational antagonists aimed to the change of the national value system based on sacred images and sacred history, therefore the teaching of religious culture in the system of high school and school education becomes one of the factors of national security. However, there is a contradiction between the needs of society and the willingness of teachers, their professional competence in the f eld of culture of traditional religious denominations. General cultural competence, as a rule, is formed in the process of obtaining general and vocational education. However, the competence of religious culture teachers has its own specif cs, which must be taken into account in the process of adjustment. The author identif es two of their features: the relationship with the dogmas of the religious tradition and the peculiarities of the historical development of our country, which inf uenced the nature of interfaith communication. The article provides scientif c observations on the peculiarities of the formation of cultural competences in the student audience of future teachers and on the courses for raising the qualif cations of teachers in the system of postgraduate education.
