Journey into the past: heritage of science and technology as a factor in nostalgia

The actual direction of work in the technical mu seum is interpretation. To study this topic, it is proposed to consider such an aspect as nostalgia. Today, old technical devices have a special aura of the past and cause nostalgia, since they were part of every person’s life, they entered the canvas of everyday life. This experience infl uenced the collection, conservation of technology (in particular, the history of the preservation of transport), at the turn of the XX–XXI centuries artistic styles began to develop more actively, taking inspiration from the past and technical history, nostalgia is characteristic of industrial photography, retro movement. In addition, nostalgia gives rise to many stories and dialogues among the museum audience; in a technical museum, everyone can join the Other’s nostalgia.
