Discursive methods of modern jazz education

This article examines the systems of jazz education, the consequences of the formation of jazz traditions and the development of jazz icons in pedagogical practice, as well as critical attempts to reveal the field of jazz studies for a broader cultural analysis. In this context, the unique problems faced by jazz education are analyzed, assuming that these problems are inextricably linked to the nature of music itself. The article focuses on three key areas that are fueled by opposing positions in jazz: the need for jazz education, geographical discrepancies in education systems, and the alleged differences between jazz performance and social theory. This study of the complex social and cultural space occupied by education reveals the potential for the development of educational methods for the destruction of dominant ideologies and the disclosure of cultural myths associated with them.
