Over the long years of its existence, more than 225 years, among the staff of the Imperial Public Library (National Library of Russia) there were many «family groups», which are usually called library dynasties. As a rule, such a choice of profession, passed from fathers to children, was associated with a special dedication to the cause for which they served. Among the most famous are the Bychkovs, Morachevskys, Sadovs and Yakovkins dynasties. V. I. Saitov”s contribution to the preservation and replenishment of the Russian branch of the Library is also well known. For the first time, the article recreates in detail the life path and activities in the Library of his son, Boris Vladimirovich Saitov, who worked there for more than 20 years, and became the founder of the music department in it and who died during the siege of Leningrad.
