The methods and stages of maritime cultural heritage objects museumification

The article observes general theoretical issues of maritime heritage objects museumification. It gives ground to the necessity of a special approach when museumifying maritime heritage and its separate groups. It pays special attention to museumification of vessels and ships as examples of vehicles and an exclusive group of maritime cultural heritage. The article describes and analyzes the Museum of the World Ocean Museum-Reserve’s experience in museumifying the following objects: the research vessel Vityaz, the diesel-electric submarine B-413, the medium fishing trawler SRT-129 and the lightship Irbenskiy. Based on the results of the practical experience as well as on historical, cultural, museological and art history sources, forms, methods and stages for vessels and ships museumification have been singled out and described. The obtained results are of theoretical and applied significance. They can be used when museumifying maritime heritage objects (boats, vessels and ships) and would be applied when developing a project on musemification of the vessel for space communication Cosmonaut Viktor Patsayev.
